Leftovers revisited and Dear Jane Quilt

When I showed you my latest finish called Leftovers you could only see half of it and it was not a good photo.
We managed one spring day so I took a few better ones of the whole quilt.

My favorite quilts are the scrappiest ones.

Here's the backing where I used some leftover nine patches that Pat brought with her to our Sunriver sewing retreat two years ago. I was working on the blocks at the time so it is nice to put these on the back as a reminder of our time together.
I'm back to plugging away on hand quilting my Dear Jane quilt. I'm doing the pieced triangles, then will go back with my Hera marker and mark the plain ones. The end of this is near......ok, nearer.....

Have a lovely day!

  3. The left over quilt is stunning. We don't realize how much fabric we have when another whole quilt can be made with left overs.

  4. More and more I'm drawn to the scrappier ones! I think that was half the fun of doing Jane -- you could use a million different fabrics! :-D The Leftovers looks like a main course to me! Beautiful. My Dear Jane is destined to remain a top for at least another year! You are so close to finishing!

  5. LOve that scrappy quilt! I also think it's great to have happy reminders in the quilt.
I joined a swap so maybe someday I'll have even scraps to make a scrappy quilt.

  7. I love the scrappy quilt! I must use leftover blocks on backs! I love this! But, never think to do it...
I cant wait to pack my sewing room and begin to sew again. I miss it so much! It is such a part of my life, i reall feel the void.
Your Dear Jane is beautiful! I know it is taking a long time to quilt, but it is a lifetime quilt, with no expense (time, in this case) to be spared. You will so pleased when it is finished. I can not wait to see it! Take your time, enjoy the process. Xo

  9. Lovely quilt, Lori! Scrappy is my favorite, too.

I heard on the Portland news last night (admittedly different weather than Bend) that this has been the second coldest April on record. We're expecting a spring day on Sat. I hope they're right.

  32. What a beauiful quilt. You are amazing. I hand quilt most of my quilts as my budget will not let me send them out to machine quilt.
    You do lovely work.

  33. Do you know the name of the quilt pattern that you used to make Left Over? I made one of these after I saw one at a quilt show. I have received many compliments on it and always the question, "What is the name of the block pattern?".

  34. I don't know what is Lori but any quilt you make, I say "I want to make that too". Well most pieced quilts anyway.

    Copying is the greatest flattery?
